A wine bar and bistro in, as the name suggests, a previous chemist shop in one of Bruton’s historic High Street buildings. The entrance is through a small grocery shop, the wine bar being in a room to the side which was presumably once the pharmacist’s workshop and storeroom. The food is expensive, it doesn’t open lunchtimes, there is no real ale or cider, and it’s more food-led than wine-led. Probably OK if you’re not a local and want an expensive treat, but it’s by no means a good pub and I shouldn’t make the effort to come here.
