Another locals pub in Bampton, which has more of a traditional feel than the Swan at the other end of the village. Opening times are fairly limited. They have recently started "trial" opening at 4pm on a Wednesday and Thursday, instead of the previous 6pm. I believe they are still closed on a Monday and a Tuesday. With plenty of other pubs still to visit, I was here for the 4pm opening time. But it wasn't long before another local joined the landlord at the bar.
St Austell Tribute is the regular ale. I chose the guest beer - Exeter Ferryman, which was a nice malty bitter. Real cider is no longer served.
