Reopened 21st September 2019, after several years as an Indian restaurant. Up to 2005,it was The Royal Standard.
Update: October 2020. Late afternoon,already filling up with dining families,who were accomodated in a spacious and airy modern extension to the rear. A few drinkers at reserved tables in the main body of the pub.This was the first time I'd been in this pub in decades, despite its being fairly close to home.
A former Courage pub, it has been opened out,and given the bare brick treatment. As "Just a quick pint..." notes above,it is largely food led, but I was made welcome as I enjoyed a glass of a green hop beer from Musket Brewery.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Pig & Sty
Great to find this place open as a pub again, and the large car park of the busy A28 was packed on a Sunday lunchtime (even in coronavirus Britain). Now operated by the local Elite pubco, it is very much food led as the others in this small chain, and the various dining areas were as full as they could be in the circumstances. With the general seating around the bar being temporarily out of use, we were lucky as un-booked visitors to be given the last table outside under cover on the patio at the back. Doom Bar and (thankfully) Harvey's (£4.50) available from two of three handpumps.
