A "community venue", once a club, located in a side street behind the Everyman cinema. It is in a slightly grim building, with a rather musty smell, there being no windows in the most part and clearly little ventilation. In the middle however is a quite-tolerable bar, decorated with various music memorabilia and with a serious-looking DJ deck at the end. An upper room houses a pool table, while the large back function room was in use for a private party so I don't know what goes on round there. I do have to say there was some pretty serious music playing. There were various LocAle and other beery signs displayed and one of the two handpumps was dispensing Brass Castle Fruit Loop (£4 a pint and in good nick). A board on the side listed various other brews which I guess might have been in the back bar, but I did spot a couple of Brew York keg taps. Despite the external appearance, it is worth dropping in for a pint and I would happily come to a gig there.

A community venue as the sign says, there’s a bar open to the public on the left as you enter. Inside it’s an old building converted to the purpose so no architectural interest etc. there’s a club like bar on the right with a raised games area off that to the right. The games area provides Pool, Bar Billiards, Pinball and Table Football. A concert room is behind the bar, quite a good Bowie tribute band were limbering up when I was in. The counter has two pulls, two small breweries being represented; localish Turning Point and Big Trip from Manchester. Most of the kegs are standard but there was the odd wild card. More club than pub in atmosphere but still worth a visit.

This appears to be a pre-gig pub with a back room where the music is played (not visited). Largish front room with the bat to the rear. Had two hand pumps but nothing that strong.
