Updated Review:

During the summer, this place appears to operate more regular hours, being open on a Friday evening and on a Saturday. We took a walk here from Colliers Wood tube station last night and were glad to find it open this time around. It was also doing quite a good trade, considering its industrial estate location.

The bar is outdoor and faces the outdoor seating area. 3 cask ales from the brewery were available - Common, SW19 & Villages, the latter being a brand new pale ale which happened to be my favourite beer of a day's drinking in London.

There are a number of keg options from Wimbledon and other breweries and a keg cider from Against The Grain. A food outlet can be found to the left-hand side of the bar. They were selling items such as bratwurst and falafel.

If you are lucky to find this place open, it's worth a visit as the beer is good. But with unreliable opening times and an out of the way location, I struggle to recommend it.

Original Review 23/3/23:

It's a real trek to get to the Wimbledon Brewery Tap and it only appears to open for special events, apart from perhaps a more regular opening on summer Saturdays. Either way, I'd noticed that the brewery was opening for Six Nations rugby matches, the last of which coincided with a planned visit to South West London.

I spoke to them in advance to confirm that they'd still be open into the evening. They confirmed that they would be and said I'd be welcome to come. So, imagine my surprise when 3 of us arrived shortly after 8pm to find the brewery in darkness and the door locked. The only sign that it had been open were 2 rather bevvied up drinkers still sat outside with their pints. They told us that the bar staff had closed and left! I can only conclude that all of the rugby fans were so annoyed with England losing that they had left en masse.

This seems a very strange way to operate a business. I will try to return, but don't bother contacting them in advance, as you'll only be told a lie.

I was here recently one evening for the presentation of a CAMRA award - as a lockdown hero for not only brewing and delivering beer, but also producing meals for worthy causes.

I was drinking their excellent SW19, but finished with a pint of the stonking 10% vintage ale XXX.K. Not sure how much the SW19 cost as I didn't buy it, but the XXX.K was around a tenner a pint. It was bit special though. they also sell bar snacks, but I didn't sample them.

This brewery tap really is at the dead end of a road to nowhere. They can't get any passing trade here, and if you stumble upon it accidentally you are very lost. But they were doing a brisk trade on the weekday evening when I visited. The brewery tap area is surprisingly large by brewery tap standards. There's plenty of covered outside seating, but unfortunately I didn't get to explore the inside. It really is out of the way, but I would say that it's worth the effort of finding, as there's not much competition in the area since the closure of the Trafalgar Freehouse. I'm sure that I'll be visiting again.
