Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Signal Box

First revisit since this Fuller's pub opened in 2018 on the mezzanine level roughly where the late and unlamented Britannia once was, but with a side dining room (with its own small bar) almost doubling the available seating space. Further seating is also available 'outside' on the balcony. As you would expect, attractively fitted out with a variety of furniture but a more modern line of decor than one might anticipate. Five different beers available from the two banks of six handpumps this time, with the special Coronation King's Ale (£6.35, but always going to be pricey for a strong beer at a place like this) and Griffin IPA in addition to the expected London Pride, ESB and Hophead.

This is a relatively new venture from Fullers, on the upper level of Euston station. The large premises is essentially divided into two parts, each with their own bar and distinctive look. The larger left side is modelled similarly to Fuller’s Parcel Yard pub at Kings Cross, with dark floorboards, large windows to the front and the servery along the rear left wall. The bar has a counter front that is made to look like it was made from old railway sleepers, and is topped with a polished stone counter in front of an arched bar back decorated in white tiles. There’s a good mix of seating throughout the spacious room, with high stools opposite the bar, beneath some TV screens showing rolling news and sport, wicker chairs near the entrance and comfy banquettes, wing back armchairs and low stools elsewhere. To the right, there’s a partitioning screen, behind which a very narrow row of tables and low stools can be found - a strange spot akin to drinking in a narrow corridor. There’s a general railway theme throughout, with a station-style pub sign above the entrance, diagrams of railway sidings on the walls and some unusual collage art on the ceiling. Meanwhile, the right hand room is a brighter space with loads more banquette and chair seating, including some nice booths along the front wall. A large station-style clock hangs from above and an ‘80’s pop soundtrack was playing in the background. This side of the room felt more like somewhere you’d pop for a coffee ahead of a journey, and I much preferred the left-hand room as a result.
Just Fullers beer on the handpulls, as you might expect, with options on this occasion comprising London Pride, ESB, Oliver’s Island, Sticky Wicket and Dark Star Hophead. The Sticky Wicket (£5.90) was a below par seasonal brew, served in decent condition by a barmaid who couldn’t care less.
I thought this was a modest attempt at a station bar, which fails to emulate the aforementioned Parcel Yard and wouldn’t even be my first choice Fullers pub in Euston station (that would be the Doric Arch). I’m sure the convenience of having a pub practically on the concourse will mean I head back at some point - not a chore in any way, but there are better options a short walk from here.

The Signal Box is a Fullers pub located on the Mezzanine level at Victoria Railway Station. The interior is open plan with seating to the left of the entrance and booth seating across the front and right windows. At the rear is an L-shaped bar that faces some high tables. On the rear wall is the kitchen serving hatch, the burger is priced at £15.25. There are two televisions on the wall, one for showing train departures and the other muted rolling BBC news. During my recent Thursday lunchtime visit there was some background music playing to a quarter full pub.
The bar supports two banks of six handpumps that were drawing London Pride (x4), ESB (x3) and Oliver’s Island (x2) alongside Dark Star’s Hophead (x2) and American Pale Ale. A pint of Pride was £5.60. There is also a standard and premium keg range. The service was friendly and I thought that this place was a huge improvement from the previous incarnation within this unit, The Brittania. I’d have no problem returning here next time I have some time to kill before my train connection.
