Funny place, there must have been an internal reconfiguration at some point as there is no front window due to the bar backing onto the area where it must have once been so it’s a bit devoid of natural light inside. A bit mish-mash, some wally has glooped a nasty grey/green paint on some of the third length wood panelling but some of it remains unmolested and is quite pleasant. Odd real ale selection at the bar, St Austell Tribute plus a Heritage Brewing Co Classic Bitter which was in great shape (NBSS 4) and was the best beer of a long and hot day’s crawling. Polite service from the behind the bar as well. Better than expected; could be improved but the cask quality and service means it deserves a better-than-average rating.
