This small bar has no connection with the Sanctuary on Lime St. The layout here is a narrow single room with high tables and stools at the front window and further seating at the rear, plus some high stools and tables opposite the bar area which was quite narrow to maneuver. The décor was rustic and quite stylish. Three handpumps on the bar with two in use serving Hawkshead Gold and a Pale. There were also five fonts further along the bar serving four Hawkshead keg and one cider. The barman explained that Hawkshead have a share in the place. My pint of Hawkshead Pale was excellent, so I didn't mind paying £4 a pint for a quality beer. You can also get hots pie in here and get a deal with a pie and a pint.

a nice little micropub which I think is a brewery tap for Hawkshead - it only sells their beer anyway. the beer is expensive, about £4 a pint, but you can get it with pie and mash at lunch for £8 which is a good reason to pop in every so often. the decor is nice and dimly lit. no look at me types today and no beards behind the bar - probably the best place to drink in this trendy street.

A very narrow bar, slightly wider at the front and rear which means it's not the easiest place to get served when it's busy, which it was. All stripped back brick and distressed wood which may be original. Full of the "look at me" types whilst we were in. Two tidy beards behind the bar should tell you what to expect. As Al say it's a total rip off pricewise with a pint of Lakeland Gold and a small wine being near enough a tenner. It's a pleasant enough place and we'll come again when we win the lottery!
