Estate pub with a room/bar to the left with a pool table and a further room/bar to the right. Weak real ale - the rest keg

The Eagle is very hard to find and relatively unknown pub located in the back streets of Arnold in between rows of housing. I know of many people who have never even heard of this place who live in the local area and until my submitting it wasn’t even on pubs galore. To say so little is known and documented about the pub is is not a small tucked away shack like you might expect but a good sized place with prominent pub sign and outside lighting. Inside there has been some money spent over the last couple of years as it is quite new and in a modern style with new seat covers and a new sanded hard wood floor. There are two separate rooms, a bar room to the left with the longest bar and a pool table and more of a lounge straight on that is served by a smaller bar. Aside from the pool table in the bar and there being slightly more seating in the lounge there was not much difference between the two. There was three pulls on the bar but sadly only abbot was on 9and this looks like it is usually the case although I was told that the beer changes but I can’t imagine anything too interesting) but was priced at a reasonable £2.90. It was in average condition but had an overly sweet toffee/ caramel taste to it that I didn’t like too much. The pub was pretty aside from a couple of blokes on a Thursday evening and the barman was a very dull and dreary man who had very little charisma or life about him. Overall a very average estate type pub but in a bit more of a modern style than most like this. I bet they get a few in on a weekend but it will only be locals as no one knows about this is those that de are unlikely to make a special journey. The presence of real ale is goo but more of a token gesture than a serious attempt. I’ve been in worse but not the place to make a special visit to.
