Blue Scrumpy left this review about The Commisioners Quay Inn
When searching for accommodation in Blyth, this place was rated as the best in town. However, there was no way I would pay the going rate here. So, I ended up in the much cheaper Oddfellows Arms around the corner.
Having said this, I did head to the Commissioners Quay for a nightcap. I wasn't expecting much, but did find a decent-sized, well appointed pub with a couple of real ales (Sharp's Sea Fury & Great North Eastern North Sea Bitter).
Like most of the pubs in Blyth, it was fairly quiet. A few people had not long finished their evening meals and I almost made an enquiry about food myself, having been tempted by the menu, but resisted.
I expect the views from here during the day are good, but at night I really couldn't see much. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of my North Sea Bitter and found this to be a fairly decent place for a drink. I still couldn't afford to stay here though!
