Rebranded and much more obvious from the street than last time I was here, though inside is basically the same (don’t remember the big TV upstairs though). The music selection is great, numerous hand pulls, service good, but… I don’t know. I have been here several times during its various guises and never seen another paying customer. Plenty in at the shisha bar next door though.

UPDATE UPDATE: Now reopened as The Coach House. Ran by the same people who run The Angus on Dale St. Still tiny but now with outside street tables so you can now probably get more outside than in. The bar has been moved back to its original position at the rear and not to the side. 4 cask ales with a few fizz taps also. Froze my bollocks off outside but the weather hey. Worth a visit
27/7/19:
UPDATE: Now called Dickens And King. Name change only.
5/4/19:
Now open. Rearranged inside with the bar now along the right hand wall. 3 handpulls now on the bar with an additional 3 gravity beers due to be added. Still tiny and now much slimmer and, quite possibly, less room than before. Upstairs part unchanged.

The easiest way to find this micro is to look for the café next door, once you enter Maryland St. This micro was opened in 2016 and has been used as various outlets down the years. Originally it was a violin repair shop, tanning shop and a hairdressers. The interior consists of a small ground floor bar and first floor seating along with one toilet. The ground floor room had bare red brick walls and parquet floor. A small bar area is found along the back wall, with a small pine counter. The back bar had dark blue painted walls, with some pine shelving displaying various types of Gin. Four ales on stillage along the back wall, served from pins, to increase the turn over and beer choice. Beer choices on my visit were, Rock the Boat Dragons Teeth, Rock the Boat Fab Four IPA, Neptune Mosiac Pale Ale. I went for the Neptune, priced at £3.60 a pint.
