Blue Scrumpy left this review about The Doodle Bar

This was almost the worst place I called into on the Bermondsey Beer Mile. After entering past the obligatory bouncer, you pass a large open kitchen on the right-hand side to the bar a little beyond on the left. The bar continues for some way off to the right-hand side, right the way through the arch.

The Doodle Bar is a loud and brash place playing dance music to the young and trendy crowd. It was packed inside, but once I'd negotiated the pondering crowds near the bar and found my way to the front, I was served quickly. Finding a table was too much of a challenge though. I decided to take up a standing space against a barrel near the aforementioned bouncer. However, after a brief visit to the gents, I returned to find around a dozen blokes and a similar number of pints on my barrel. I did offer to join them, which they didn't seem too impressed with, but instead found another spot to finish off my awful Doodle Beer (supposedly brewed by themselves).

Amongst the other beers on were Kona Big Wave, Anspach & Hobday The London Porter & Brixton Low Voltage. Should I find myself on the Bermondsey Beer Mile again, I'll follow Moby Duck's lead and walk on by.

Basically a keg lager, and burger joint with some installation art thrown in for good measure,I didn't stop for a drink.
