Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Taphouse

Modern craft beer bar in a single-storey unit. Too large to be a micro-pub, but similar in terms of appearance, but with the resident DJ working the decks on a Sunday afternoon the atmosphere couldn't be more different... but everyone (including me) was enjoying things so what's not to like? Talking of which, there was an excellent selection of 13 craft beers in a wide range of different styles from the 14 taps on the bar-back, plus a couple of handpumps on the counter. These proved to be partially illusory, in that only one cask beer was available, but my pint of Red 5 from Left Handed Giant (£4.00, and in fine form) was served by gravity.

Real Ale Ray left this review about The Taphouse

Describes itself as a beer café as they serve food throughout the day such as light lunches, sandwiches and cakes, plus a good selection of beers and ciders. This was a decent sized one room venue with the bar area situated over on the right hand side of the entrance. The opposite wall had a row of mustard coloured banquette seating, and in the middle of the room, there was ample seating in the form of low tables and chairs. There was also a row of high stools along the bar counter.
We found the owner's wife to be very welcoming and chatty, keeping three older chaps at the bar counter entertained with her upbeat personality. It turned out that she was from Winchmore Hill, North London and that she worked in the Orange Tree for a while. Beer wise, they had 14 keg and one cask, a bit disappointed there. Their only cask choice was Northdown Brewery He-Bru from Margate, which was decent. I then reluctantly thought I would try a keg beer served from a row of taps along the back bar. The beer I went for was the Wiper and True brewery Kaleidoscope from Bristol and to my surprise, the temperature was normal, not minus 230 degrees kelvin.
