Real Ale Ray left this review about Arcade Alehouse

This micro was formally a cake decorating shop and now has a ground floor area with a small facing bar area, facing you as you enter, along with a first floor seating area. This micro was quiet on our arrival, which gave good opportunity to peruse their chalked up beer board. There was a good choice of six cask ales, so we went for the Barlow Three Valleys IPA, which was outstanding along with the Exit 33 Mosaic pale ale. The pub soon filled up when a group of eight blokes called in from the nearby Old No 7. They were all a friendly and chatty bunch, who told us they call in here every Thursday afternoon. The young barman was also friendly and chatty and when we had finished our drinks, we walked up the road with him, to check out the newly opened Tin Oyle.

The Arcade Alehouse is situated towards the bottom end of the arcade that it is in.
Once inside there is a small square shaped room with a small bar to the rear right, the floor looked like wood laminate, the seating is bench type to the front with small stools and tables and small stools, there is a drinking shelf on the left side, there is a similar shaped room upstairs which has pew seats and small stools, both rooms were very busy.
There was a decent choice of real ales on the bar and all priced at £2.70 a pint,i had a drink of Two Roses Heron Porter which went down a treat, the other beers noted were Bradfield Farmers Belguim Blue,Isca Staggering Santa,Geeves Naughty Elf,Cottage Night train and Jolly Sailor Jolly Blonde.
This is a good addition to Barnsley's drinking scene.
