One of Bath’s fine Georgian buildings, currently a pub operated by Fuller’s, which doesn’t do it any favours. During the COVID era food is only available in the upstairs bar, and the ale selection has dropped to two draft ales – although when I arrived the Oliver’s Island had run out (only just, they told me) leaving Pride as the sole decent offering. The young staff were quite unhelpful, one of them cocky and rude. The beer wasn’t on top form, and it was over-priced for the area. Some of the other customers were also fairly belligerent, not locals, just entitled tourists. All in all a rather disappointing visit, it certainly wasn’t a relaxing pub visit, so I doubt I’ll join the pack and hunt this one out again.

Good looking Georgian frontage, this pub is now tied to Fullers, and the interior has an ale house feel with a wooden floor ,a fireplace to the left with a small book swap library ,a narrow banquette to the middle right and a bar supporting 7 handpumps, although some will be double clipped.Ale choice on my visit was London Pride,HSB,Oliver's Island,Summer Ale (decent) with a sole guest of Bath SPA.
Solid without being spectacular ,a GBG listing seems over the top,but its worth a pint.If you are looking to eat there is a smart first floor restaurant with it's own bar supporting two handpumps.

This pub is also conveniently situated for the Rugby ground being a fairly short stroll to the Rec and we utilised it to meet up with some Bath supporting colleagues when Saracens visited just before Christmas.
Pub on a couple of levels and the street level bar is a modern decor well described by the previous reviewer so not a lot to add to that.
Service levels were good, but a match day when the pub is rammed is probably not representative of the norm.
Unfortunately the beer choice wasn’t that inspiring for a Londoner as they seemed to have taken a delivery from Fullers as three of the pumps had Pride and ESB on. But the fourth had Abbeys Bellringer, and all the beers our group had were well kept.
Not sure I’d bother next time when visiting Bath as there are more interesting traditional pubs in Town. But for a couple of pre match decent pints it was perfectly fine.
