Enjoyed our rather quick visit to the 2019 Good Beer Guide pub yesterday and with the fine weather we were sat outside with our Windermere A bit o ruff. Cafe bar with friendly staff and a large toy owl on the bar area.

This place is not that much different to a micropub but describes itself as a cafe bar so that's what it is. It's a square room with a wooden floor and a modern look. There is an extensive patio area at the front and side. It was doing a good trade on my Wednesday afternoon visit.
There were eight hand pumps which included a cider and had two unused. The five beers included Unsworth Yard Sir William Marshal's Crusader Gold, Weetwood Old Dog, Hawkshead Lakeland Gold and a beer from Prospect brewery. I went for the Weetwood Old Dog (£3.30) which was in good nick.
I found this to be a pleasant enough place that's well worth a look.

This new café bar was formally a kebab shop and have to say what a superb job they have done on the conversion. We called early Friday eve and the bar was busy inside and out. This corner street bar consisted of one room with the bar situated along the back wall. The exterior also had adequate drinking space with both side and front. The front area having a large glass canopy and seating area.
The bar counter was in granite and had an oak cladded front, the back bar had a silver glitter wallpaper which was added sparkle under the bar lighting. The service here was efficient, if you were stood directly in front of the young bar staff, without having to draw their attention along the bar. Eight handpumps with seven in operation serving six ales and one cider. We went for the locale Bank Top Pavilion Pale, which was superb.
The main theme running through the bar was the various owls dotted around the place. Another unusual feature were the woollen clouds around the ceilings. These were placed here to act as sound diffuses to cut down voice overload when the bar gets busy, I have to say it does work. This bar is slightly upmarket with Prosecco on tap, but still attracts the real ale drinker with their choice and quality.
