Ubertrendy shop conversion with Mexican food, a wall of 14 keg taps and a stillage which, on this visit, only held Summer Lightning and a couple of Lilleys boxes. The back of the place features a vinyl record shop and there are a few pavement tables outside. Everything seemed rather overpriced, especially for sitting on uncomfortable narrow benches. The Summer Lightning was a bit bland but the craft selection looked interesting enough if you like/can afford that sort of thing. Can't say I'd rush back.

Overdraft is an ultra-cool beer & taco venue - you know the sort. When I called in, they were pouring Hophead & Red Cat Tomcat direct from the cask - the latter in great condition. There were also a dozen or more keg taps plus 4 Lilley's bag in a box ciders stacked up. A top-notch music backdrop added to the vibe early on a Saturday evening. I loved the place and have to say it's a great option in Shirley.

A slightly younger drinkers haunt, compared to the nearby Clockmakers and the Witches Brew. The staff were young and hip and the service comprised of one person pouring your beer and the second taking payment. Four cask beers and a numerous keg choice, so we went for the Red Cat and Siren Undercurrant, obviously priced ok, compared to their keg offerings. The main feature in here was the original oak herringbone patterned floor.
