Popped in here to escape a shower , layout seems to have changed since the previous reviews , there are seating areas either side of the door with bench seats and leather armchairs , the bar is up some steps and to the right , up the stairs on the left is another couple of rooms and more stairs lead up to another floor .
8 pulls on the bar mostly from Leeds Brewery , the Gold was in decent shape , very quiet on a wednesday afternoon with just us and a couple of old girls knocking back Stout .

This pub used to be Plunketts restaurant and it shows on the inside. It's not very pubby really. It's all very nicely done in a distressed kind of way. Lots of dining tables and chairs, these are tightly packed together in the top area. As you enter the bar is straight in front of you, but is at a ridiculously high height. You need to go up a step to be at a sensible level. It was created as a Leeds brewery pub, but was promptly bought by Camerons, almost before the paint was dry. 4 Leeds beers on the bar plus 1 from Camerons and a couple of guests. My pint was in good nick and we stayed for a pleasant 30 minutes. It's nice enough, so we'll probably call in again.

A recently renovated pub from an former popular restaurant is the eagle and child. Inside is very neat and tidy but i cannot help but feel uncomfortable mostly down to the lack of decoration, the pub does have a nice snug feel but is extremely bare and plain. almost as though they opened it rarly to get the punters in with ambitions of finishing it later. There are 12 hand pulls on the bar, eight on the abnormally tall front bar, (four leeds beers and four ever changing guests from the leeds portfolio and further afield). the other four pumps just replicate the leeds beers on the other bar possibly until custom picks up and they introduce more guests. leeds pale best and golden were available the pale and golden are charged at £3.30 and £3.50 and are kept in very nice condition,. guests have included brewery such as thornbridge, timithy taylors and Rudgate and start of pricey and the £3.50 mark.
All in all a very nice pub that has huge potential but sadly lacks a bit of atmosphere at the moment, still the beer is good quality and choice, I will be returning in the future.
