An open to the public bar below the hotel reception which is what was once one of the old prison concourses - the iron ladder from the ground floor to next level is still in situ, towering over the bar area and if you sit at the end of the bar you can make out the individual cell door entrances. There were three keg offerings available - Heineken lager x 2 and BrewDog Punk IPA. There are no pints served here; you can either order a half (£3.20), or what the Aussie's call a 'schooner' (and what they call it here) i.e. two-thirds of a pint, for an eye-watering £4.50. Deuchars IPA and Anchor Steam Beer were also spotted in bottle form in the fridge. Right down in the San Marino league of Oxford ticks.
