Next to the Varsity which had all the custom as there was only me in the place. No real ale - standard keg rubbish only.

This smallish one roomed themed pub is dedicated to the memory of The 11th Battalion East Lancashire Regiment known as the Accrington Pals which was formed a month after the outbreak of WW1 when the War Office accepted an offer made by the Mayor of Accrington to raise a complete Battalion, half of which resided in Accrington and the rest were recruited from neighbouring towns.
On entry after passing between a few random settees and various other mixed furniture you will find the bar situated half way up the room on your left and on the opposite side are around 7 stools underneath a long shelf fixed to the wall. Scattered around the walls are an adequate amount of framed photos of the pals and higher up written inscriptions of facts and quotes from the battalion.Beyond The bar is a pool table where I think work was still in progress as it had only opened the day before my lunchtime visit.
There was no real ale on show but the barman was friendly enough and allowed me to sample the house bitter (£2 a pint) before purchasing.
