On a return visit to Barmouth I was very pleased to find that this place is now known as Myrddin’s Tap and Brewery Shop and acts as the tap room and bottle shop for Barmouth’s only micro brewery and micro gin distillery, which is out back I believe.
Internally it has a micro pub / bottle shop vibe with a wooden floor supporting a few tables, stone walls and fridges and shelves of beer dotted around. There are two tables out front that catch the full sun but you will be very fortunate to find one of these free.
The bar at the far end has 12 electric pumps on the front, six for ales and six for ciders (although one of these was being used for a token Wrexham lager). On my visit theses included Conwy Beachcomber, Purple Moose High Hops and Cwrw Madog and Wye Valley HPA along side the breweries own New World Ale and Hen Yshafn on the ale pumps and a range of Lilly’s flavoured ciders including a particularly nice Rhubarb one.
Then on the wall behind the servery is a line of some fifteen or so flavoured gins on optics.
Paddles of 3 3rds are available and we shared a couple of these. I wasn’t too enamoured with the breweries own products but the Purple Moose brews were reliably good as usual.
Some informal opening hours for this one which tends to open at 11 in the morning but then shuts at 7 most evenings and is not open until Thursday in the week I believe.
Barmouth is not blessed with a plethora of decent real ale establishments so this is a welcome addition irrespective of its size and erratic opening hours.

Small cafe bar that doesn't currently do cask ale but does sell many local bottle conditioned ales and bottled ciders. It is possible to visit it without having to order food.
