Strange little place - an upmarket restaurant and spa with a public bar. The entrance to the bar looks impressive - an attractive old doorway with stained glass porch upper and flanked by two lion statues. The bar itself is quite large with proper old beams but heavily modernized. Loads of music ephemera around, mainly framed platinum discs. Two ales on, Rebellion IPA and Rebellion Zebedee (ropey) served by a disinterested barmaid. Impressive spirit collection noted. Expensive round though not as bad as the Chequers a short hop away. An unsatisfying curiosity. Formerly Inn on the Green.
