Found through the Matthew Curtis Book but also in the GBG 2024.
9am opener in the market hall, which makes for an interesting and busy place to drink. A small bar area, but outside bench seating shared with the local eateries. Lord only knows where the loos are :-)
Local casks at a bargain £3 but I was drawn to the rarely seen Budvar Dark lager.
Friendly bar man, keen to share recommendations and advice of other places... not least his sister pub that isnt in the Curtis Guide.

A market stand serving as a decent craft/ale bar. Lots of regulars crowding around the bar and quite a jolly atmosphere, similar to the Bob Inn in Chorley. It’s not really a pub but it’s a good addition to the market. Vibrant and surprisingly multicultural with a few Asian families drinking here. I quite enjoyed the hubbub here and a decent coffee stout.

One For The Road is a market stall based in Bolton's Indoor Market. Only open on market days (Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday) until 5:30pm, we arrived quite late in the day to find it was the only open stall on the market. Nevertheless, there were still a few customers and a few market traders who had finished for the day.
Stockport ONE is the regular beer. Guests were Pennine Pacific & Black Hole The Dark Side, whilst the real cider was Gwynt y Ddraig Black Dragon. A craft beer available was Northern Monkey Patience Is A Virtue.
A decent place for a drink in Bolton town centre. Although it did lack a little atmosphere with all of the other stalls closed. It is perhaps better to come here earlier in the day.
