We actually utilised the Hive a few times during our week in Aberaeron as its mix of being a bar and grill restaurant fitted our purposes. An attractive stone building with a pleasant interior as described below there is a small bar section with a couple of sofa chairs as you enter, but this space can only really accommodate half a dozen people. And then the rest of the internal space beyond the bar is the grill restaurant. But what helps this place to work is the outside patio area beyond with its bright primary coloured bench seating and harbour side position that affords pleasant views of the town and the high part of the harbour.
The grill restaurant provides a decent food menu at reasonable price levels and our experience was that the quality and price levels here (both being my idea of reasonable) were more matching than they were in some of the other town restaurants. Then the outside space was a great spot either for a lunchtime beer or for a second post dinner pint on a balmy summers evening. And in this respect the Hive supports two ales along with the usual keg offerings. And although one was Sharps Atlantic the other was a really well kept Tiny Rebel Cwtch .
So, can only really recommend to utilise the outside space on a fine weather day if you intend to come here just for a beer, but for beer and food, this one hit the spot for us.

New harbourside bar and grill. Tasteful blue and white stone painted interior with paintings and a mix of furnishing. Conservatory to rear leading out to a gravel sun-trap patio, populated by primary coloured beer tables and overlooking part of the pretty little town. Real ale available (Doom Bar) which was in fair condition plus a decent range of other options
