Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about BrewDog Sheffield
Usual semi-industrial decor, but with features like a few booths along the main windows perhaps less canteen-like in terms of furniture than some BrewDog outlets? Very good selection of craft beers in a wide range of styles, as you would expect, with 12 of their beers and ten guests (including the guest 6.5% Crown & Hops IPA, £4.20, half).

Usual boards behind the bar to say what they had. I had a half of Punk IPA and waited for my sight to acclimatize itself from very bright outside to fairly murky inside.

This is a typical conversion of a double shop unit (a shop pair?) in warehouse grunge style. The usual selection of cold fizzy beers is listed on the cinema-style display behind the counter - only one beer at under £4 a pint, and most of them vastly more. I took my half of Punk IPA to a table that looked like it had been rescued from a skip and waited for it to warm up enough to take a sip. I had a good look around while waiting - the light fittings were unusual - old fluorescent tubes arranged in cylindrical fashion, with a functioning light bulb in the middle. There's a mural of vicious dogs on one wall and the other walls have been painted in a way that suggests several tins of very old paint were scraped out and applied any-old-how. There was some music being played which I couldn't at first identify, but it finally resolved itself into a messy cover version of Gimme Shelter. My beer was still very cold, but I had a go at it anyway. There was an intriguing combination of flavours hiding in there somewhere, and eventually I identified it as tangerine peel and WD40. The group of students at the next table were approached by the barman with the enquiry "are you all right for drinks, lads?" This was code for "you've been sitting here for two hours playing cards and only bought one round", and they left soon after. I didn't stay much longer - I quite liked the music, but I'm not prepared to pay over £2 for a half of cold fizzy beer on a regular basis - maybe once a year for research purposes.
