We tried to pay a visit here on Saturday lunchtime onto to find the door still locked, despite a sign outside stating that they opened at midday. After trying a couple of different telephone numbers, one unobtainable and one unanswered and trying to attract the attention of the barmaid through the holes in the corrugated iron "walls", we eventually attracted the attention of a chef who came and told us that they would be open in around 30 minutes. After a quick trip to the Bridewell, we returned to find it open.

Firmly in the centre of Liverpool's nightlife area, the Kazimier Garden is a makeshift space surrounded by tall buildings that feels more like a building site than either a garden or a pub/bar.

However, I had been attracted here by the possibility of an 11% stout on cask from the local Carnival Brewery. On arrival at the bar, we found the same woman whose attention we were trying to attract earlier. She turned out to be the bar manager and she explained that her bar staff hadn't turned up for work.

On expression our disappointment that there there was only 1 cask beer (Black Lodge What The Lightning Sees) and that the stout had gone, she swiftly revealed that she believed that the stout was still on. It hadn't been on too long, but the pumpclip had falled off. So, we got to try the "Jet" after all. Definitely an imperial stout to exercise caution with, but not as good as we'd hoped. There are also a few craft beer options and I did also notice a box of Weston's cider (possibly Rosie's Pig) off to one side of the bar.

This bar is mostly open air. Although, there are some areas of shelter. Booths off to the right are the most prized seating. Elsewhere, there is bench seating. Toilets are in one corner. They are unisex and somewhat basic with plenty of graffiti.

A place that I haven't been to for almost 4 years, it's still one that I like to visit occasionally when in Liverpool for its unique atmosphere and unusual beer selection. It certainly acts as a good antedote to the other more commercial operations in the local area.

The train guard van thingy has gone and there is now just a hut that acts as a "Garden Kitchen". There is extra seating above the bar. 3 handpumps on the bar with Liverpool Craft Half Nelson and White Tips IPA by Siren. The other pump is used for cider.

11/3/16
This is an open air bar and very easy to miss. Its a bit like being in a disused allotment or railway siding. The train guards van thingy is a bit much but for novelty value I'll give em that. There are sometimes additional handpumps added to the bar if you're lucky. Its not a place I think is particularly good though it does seem popular with students types.
