This pub is a Brewer’s Fayre establishment attached to a Premier Inn and located on a retail park, so before you even get in you pretty much know what to expect, and it’s not going to be much. Note also that the car park is Pay & Display, although there were some signs about reclaiming the fee if you’re a customer. Alternatively, the Tesco car park opposite offers three hours free parking.

It’s a good sized pub internally, wrapped around a central bar counter. The solitary barmaid was friendly enough and doing her best, but having to serve lots of people queueing to take food orders meant that bar service was not particularly swift. I heard her complaining to a local about the manager sat in her office doing nothing whilst she was struggling to cope. Décor wise it’s the usual inoffensive of mix of rather bland styles, with various pastel shades of paintwork of green and peach on the walls. Flooring is predominantly patterned carpet, although there are also some dark wooden boards around the bar counter. One end of the pub was a little cosier perhaps, with some natural wood panelling on the walls, and a small brick fireplace with a wood burning stove. Various TV screen were dotted around, although the volume was off so this was not too intrusive, and there were also a few old black and white photographs around.

The solitary beer on tap was Doom Bar, whilst a second pump appeared unused. Ciders meanwhile were Thatcher’s Gold and Thatcher’s Haze, although the latter of these too appeared to be off. I can’t really see any reason to visit here unless you’re somehow combining it with a trip to the supermarket and can’t be bothered to go anywhere else.
