cafe type place very near station. Well fitted out, comfortable & good service. Six excellent real ales

A small bar with the feel of a cafe rather than a pub, though there is beer a-plenty. I counted six hand pumps, but did not bother counting the keg beers available at the time of my visit. There were a dozen or so people present at the time of my Friday afternoon visit, mostly drinking lager. I went for Beespoke Shipley Stout, which is brewed on the premises.
Home cooked food is available and there is background music. I found it a little too noisy in here, but some people like their pubs that way. I quite liked the relaxed vibe of this pub, especially the extempore decorations based on inventive use of beer mats and bottle caps.

This is the place to drink in Shipley.Very close to the station but situated in a dull parade of shops,the conversion has been done very tastefully with traditional benches ,tables,stools and settles and interesting wall decorations with a bar to the rear left.At the back of the building is a unisex loo with pages from Private Eye plastered to the wall ,some of the cartoons gave me a good chuckle.There is a small courtyard outside .
It certainly merits the description of a micropub,the welcome was very friendly and the quality of the 6 handpumped real ale was outstanding.On my trip the offering was Saltaire Hop 256 and New World Red,Bridgestone Pennine Gold and Sandstone with house ale Beespoke Brewing Shipley Stout .I sampled four different pints and all were on top form with a pleasing mix of styles and strengths.Wine is available and there were also 8 keg taps,some offering interesting craft options.There is a quiz,and on my Wednesday evening trip live music from a guitarist and the atmosphere was genuine and lots of fun.Apparently there is often free bread and dripping on the bar,pickled eggs are also available to purchase.
I was impressed ,will most certainly return and I would say this is an unmissable treat if you are in the area.
