Still as described in the previous review - a mixture of pub, museum and junk shop - but definitely a good and friendly pub atmosphere though. I was pleased to find all three handpumps in use, with Weetwoods Cheshire Cat, Holts Two Hoots and Robinsons Unicorn on. Worth dropping in.

I couldn't recall seeing this pub on previous visits to Stockport, and it seems that despite its appearance of a traditional pub building it is in fact a relatively recent conversion from other use. For me, it was an unexpected Aladdion's cave of old furniture, mirrors, clocks, radios and ancient TV sets. Different parts of the space have been given identities by the floor coverings and vintage furniture. I'm sure I remember some of the chairs and radio sets from my childhood - amazing stuff. On the bar are three hand pumps, with just one beer on - Weetwood Cheshire Cat - in good condition. One of the owners, dressed in T-shirt and shorts, remarked to me how cold it was, to which I responded that he should try putting some clothes on. He came back, it was his day for cellar work, including cleaning the pipes - which I suppose would warm him up. I liked it here, and came back again next time I had a change of trains in Stockport. The same beer was on - it's clearly a regular, though WhatPub says Wainwright - but this time with another on in support, which I failed to make a note of (not Wainwright though). One to bear in mind if having half an hour to spare at Stockport station.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Wellington
Proper town-centre boozer, in a good way, with plenty of custom on a Friday evening - loud but generally good natured. The L-shaped interior (with exposed brickwork and plenty of mirrors) has been thoroughly modernised but still retains a semi-traditional feel. I found two of the three handpumps in use, offering Two Hoots from Holts and Weetwood's Cheshire Cat (£3.50).
