Real Ale Ray left this review about The Ropery
It took us about 6-7 minute walk from the Saltgrass to here. The Ropery is an old warehouse that used to make ropes, hence the name and is situated on the River Wear. This large three floor establishment lacks atmosphere and with it having so much space, it doesn't have that pub feel. A lot of the areas are set out for dining. The two ales we tried were in good form, which were Camerons Strong Arm and Mosaic.
