Under new management and much improved since our visit in 2013. It's still baisically the same in the main room, but there is now an upstairs room that used to be part of the restaurant. It's all dark wood panelling and old timbered ceilings and can be quite atmospheric in the evenings. Two handpumps and several craft kegs available on the bar. The Mosaic brewed by Yorkshire Brewing Company which is brewed a few hundred yards away on Humber Street was in good nick. The only let down on this occasion was the sticky tables. The barmaid was reading a magazine when I arrived, so it's not as if she didn't have the time to clean them.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Old House
An interesting-looking building, and one of Hull's oldest, converted to pub use relatively recently. Compact, traditional-looking interior with an upstairs room, but it styles itself as a 'Bistro & Craft Beer Bar' and that is not too wide of the mark. In addition to the eight keg taps, there are two real ales on handpump which included the Mosaic Session Bitter (1.60, half) when we stopped by.

Little single roomer, with a nice bow frontage. Front area is quite characterful with exposed brick and wonky beams, the rear (which houses the bar) less so. Noted an old sit-down arcade machine that was switched off (why have it then?). Just two on; a flatlining Marstons Longer Days (taken back but not off) and a better Yorkshire Mosaic. Also eight craft kegs to the rear of the bar. Service was utterly perfunctory from the teenage barmaid who looked like she wouldn’t know quality beer if it bit her in the backside. I thought this was a pretty weak in the context of the Scale Street area and I wouldn’t see myself wanting to go again, especially with Wm Hawkes directly opposite. 5.5
