pleasant enough modern Spoons opposite the retail/leisure park. The beer choice was pretty drab but I preferred the general atmosphere here to the one in Liverpool I visited earlier in the day. Shiny place with loads of different areas to sit, inside and out.

A very smart and modern JDW, right on the promenade. There's a massive seating area at the front for those balmy, sunny days and a first floor terrace as well. The bar is just as you enter and is quite compact for a JDW. To the right are a couple of alcoves and to the rear is more of a dining area, complete with a new style open kitchen. Upstairs is much more seating in various styles, so it's deceptively large. A dismal range of beers on the bar though. The only one that was remotely interesting was from Peerless. When I asked for a pint the barmaid told me it wasn't on. I had a pint of something else that was so memorable that I've forgotten. Overall it's a very nice place, but do something with the beer selection.

Although this is listed in the JDW directory as a Lloyds I don't recall seeing any evidence of it apart from a rather average beer choice.
As described below it's a modern two tier place with a mostly wooden floor downstairs and a dining area plus a few alcoves at the rear.
Although there are two sets of five hand pumps there was much doubling up so the choice amounted to the JDW Trio Of Doom, Dunscar Amber & Monroe and Hook Norton Nerdherder IPA. I went for the Dunscar Amber (£2.15) which was in good nick.
Not one of the best JDWs but on a Summer Saturday early afternoon it seemed OK. Remarkably this one is in the 2016 GBG but that might say more about the other New Brighton pubs than the worthiness of this one.
