Rather dull hotel bar, with steps up at the main entrance and then back down again to the building's semi-basement. Old-fashioned furniture and decoration in the L-shaped interior, plus a few wooden benches outside for the better weather. The handpumps have long gone, with Beavertown's Neck Oil (£5.15) being about the best of the limited keg options.

There are steps up to the entrance of Harvey’s which pass some outside seating. There is a ramp that goes up to the hotel entrance so I imagine there is step free access to the bar. The interior is L shaped with a plasma screen to the left which was showing muted sport, a seating area to the right rear and a pool table and dartboard at the very back. Some background music was playing off a jukebox.
The bar is stocked with standard draught and the three ales on hand pump were London Glory, Courage Best and Bombardier.

I found the service to be polite, but I didn’t find this to be the most comfortable of places so I will walk past when next in the area.

Subterranean bar on a busy junction, small and cramped, low ceiling, with a larger dining area to the rear. Approached through a terrace which makes for pleasant outside seating when the weather permits. The sudden darkness as you go descend into the bar makes the entry hazardous, particularly when some bimbo is trying to run out with a tray of drinks at the same time. The only ale on was Bombardier which was much too cold and tasteless. TV screens dominate the walls, while unruly children make it a bit of a chore to get drinks across the room. I don't see my coming back other than to watch sports on the telly.
