This is a nice old fashioned village pub in what is barely a hamlet in the beautiful valley of Farndale. The original street doors seem to have fallen into disuse, and entry is now from the car park at the back of the pub, where there is also a large dining room extension. The public bar, possibly originally a kitchen if the presence of a black range is anything to go by, has a stone flagged floor and a few tables, chairs and benches. On the bar are three hand pumps with Daleside Blonde and Black Sheep Bitter the beers on offer at the time of my Monday afternoon visit. A very pleasant cycle ride to get here, helped by the sunny weather, and I enjoyed being here for the duration of a pint of Black Sheep.
