Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Barrel

Strange one this, hidden from the road and housed in a converted farm outbuilding. Conservatory extension and rear pool room. Live music and other events advertised. Patio furniture in small areas to side and rear. Formerly known as the Cider Shed, and the current landlord (Jonty) still makes his own from a small plant out the back. One handpump on the bar counter, but all three beers - Adnams Bitter plus two from the nearby Elmtree micro-brewery: Golden Pale Ale and Burston's Cuckoo (£3.20) - were served direct from the stillage when I visited a couple of months ago. Overall, an unusual community local, but worth seeking out if in the area.
