Will Larter left this review about The Shakespeare

This was a regular haunt of mine at one time in around 1980. In fact, hearing Going Underground by The Jam always brings this place to mind because we used to play it on the juke box here when it first came out. This was a tiny pub and was never very busy, though the beer was good. The landlord Vinnie was a bit of an eccentric and we liked it here.

It's been closed for a long time and is now used as a bed and breakfast hotel with no licenced bar.
