Little has changed from Quinno's previous reviews apart from a name change to a proper pub name. According to the website, the Duke of Clarence George Plantagenet, 1st Duke of Clarence, forfeited his title in 1478, after he had been convicted of treason against his brother. He allegedly met his end by being drowned in a butt of Malmsey (according to William Shakespeare) and his son, Prince Edward was later executed and his head buried at nearby Bisham Abbey. This is McMullen's second pub in the town after The Britannia estate pub on the outskirts of the town centre. Much emphasis on their drag bottomless brunches, there's a shuffleboard towards the rear of the open space which is a novelty. Two ales available: Country and AK Mild; £4.35 for a pint of the latter and in good shape. As mentioned below, a little too industrial and polished for my liking, but the beer was good and it's worth a drop-in if considering a Marlow crawl.

Almost no change internally to my original review, though I must say this works quite well as a daytime pub and I noted a tidy rear garden. Three McMullen ales clipped; Country Bitter, IPA (went off) and Bard of Ale (good nick). Sour taste in the mouth left by the expensive prices, cleared out of £6.25 for three halves made worse by the slapstick bar service. 5.5

Baroosh is a branded offshoot of bars owned by McMullen's brewery. Opened at the end of last year, the Marlow branch is housed in a converted bank and is pretty large inside with a rather industrial utilitarian-chic style, as I’m sure the brochure from the fitters would have worded it. We got there just on 6pm on a Saturday and the place was pretty busy. It’s a ‘grown-up’ venue with a strict over-21’s policy. The drinks range reflects this, with a cocktail range and wine list larger than average. Three McMullens beers were on, and the two I had were in fair shape, if a tad expensive. Whilst at the bar, noted an impressive copper bar top. The loud music and background acoustics made the place quite loud and I ended up having to almost shout conversation across the table. There’s quite an emphasis on food, with waitress service available. The stained glass windows at the rear looked nice and a seat there is the best place to settle. Unfortunately we were stuck at a table by the door and pot plants. Like most ventures of this ilk it felt like a jack of all trades and a master of none. Marlow really needs a good traditional pub. Still, I suspect this bar will rake in the lolly and if it offers some proper beer then it’s better than Slug & Lettuce? Rated 6
