A Beefeater as described by Blackthorn, below. We waited for what seemed like an age for a young staff member to arrive, dodging the metaphorical tumbleweed and watching the paint dry while we stood there. When the somewhat inept individual arrived, they were unhelpful and vague. There were two pumps clipped Doombar and Rev James, but both were completely undrinkable, among the worst I’ve had – when enough was actually splashed into the glass. More shi?-shape than Bristol fashion.

A Beefeater pub attached to the adjacent Premier Inn, it has the bland, corporate feel typical of such establishments and whilst it offers a handy pit stop whilst waiting for us bus it is unlikely to entice the more discerning drinker in to making a special effort to visit.
Décor wise the walls are covered in various shades of pastel paint including grey, blue and khaki green along the front. Some of the walling was covered in distressed wooden boards and a large and dazzlingly bright BAR sign was behind the bar counter, just in case you couldn’t find it. Although all one open plan room, partitioning was used to segment it in to different areas, including what might very loosely be described as a snug in one corner.
The mass produced, laminated menu offered an extensive selection of dishes and was divided in to sections such as grills, steaks, burgers and house favourites. Prices seemed expensive though with most of the main courses coming in at around £12 or so and some of the steaks considerably more.
The solitary beer on tap was Butcombe, although there was a second pump that appeared unused so there may on occasions be another. Ciders meanwhile were Thatcher’s Gold and Strongbow.
