A smallish area at the front as you enter with a tight middle bar and a much larger rear restaurant. All a bit arty-farty for my liking, not helped by the shrieking harridans stood next to us, one of whom had a laugh that resembled the noise of a machine-gunned rhea. Four ales on, an under-par St Austell Proper Job, StA Tribute, Castle Rock Walrus and a superb Long Man Scary Man, which saved the day. Otherwise, it’s a pretty soulless vertical drinking bar with attached gastropub. 5.5

There are four hand pumps on the bar, which is in the centre of the room, with seating space in front and further back. It's food oriented, but not to the extent of being a restaurant that tolerates drinkers. Beers available at the time of our visit came from St Austell (Proper Job as well as Tribute) and Brains (a Halloween special called Open Casket). Although the beers are a tad unadventurous, I wouldn't mind calling in here again.
