The Wolverton Arms was the least friendly of the three pubs at this end of town that I visited on Saturday afternoon. It seemed like everyone was in a strop because Man U just beat Arsenal, maybe they should try supporting their local team. The barman tending the U shaped counter communicated in grunts of differing frequency. I went for half a Fosters from the standard keg selection. There are televisions throughout for live sport and there’s a jukebox on the wall. Down the left side of the bar is a dartboard and in the right front corner is a fireplace with a plastic 1970s wood effect gas heater. I’ll not be returning here.
