Browns Brasserie & Bar Is a fine dining restaurant and bar set a little way up the upmarket residential street of park row near the main maid Marion way road. It is house in a nice looking red brick building that has many different areas and goes back much further than appears on the outside. There are two main areas the upmarket bar on the left hand side and the restaurant to the left that goes all the way back as well additional room upstairs. The bar looked pretty plush and modem with some stylish leather sofas and high stools that were seating some of Nottingham’s rather well-heeled drinkers. I took my mother here former birthday because I saw on what pub and previous reviews that it sold real ale so had to give it a try. Unfortunately I was informed that this had been taken out and that the only thing that had similar was keg Purity longhorn IPA. This was cold and fizzy but had nice hop bite and was ok and at a breathtaking £4.95 it should have been as well. Even though it’s really a restaurant and restaurant prices are to be expected I still think this is very excessive especially for Nottingham. The food was very nice two courses for £11 before 7 on the pre theatre menu was quite a good price. With No ale I would not choose to come to the bar here for a drink as it’s a bit to glitzy for my liking but as a special treat for food its quite a nice modern Bistro in a simplistic style but somewhere that has obviously invested a lot in the design which is a rather nice place to be. As a pub /bar it’s not my cup of tea but those that way inclined to theses type of places would probably like it here a lot.

Browns in a fairly new bar to the Nottingham drinking scene.
This is quite an upmarket establishment that is in an old building just off maid marrion way.
Once inside there is a largish room facing that has lots of tables and chairs all tables in this area were laid out for diners, the bar is to the left this area is set aside for drinkers, the seating was comfortable leather type with padded cushions, there was a baby grand piano in this area.
There are lots of other area to this bar but most were for diners only.
There were two real ales on the bar i had a drink of Pedigree and this was a very nice well kept drink the other beer was Doom Bar.
This bar caters for a more upmarket type who like to wine and dine but as a drinker who had a football shirt on i was made just as welcome which i thought was quite nice.
