Blue Scrumpy left this review about The Kings Head

Situated in the centre of Bridgend, there was nothing particularly special about this place. Locals were mainly gathered in the small snug area to one side of the bar, also mentioned in the previous review. A few others were scattered around the rest of the pub, mostly watching a Carabao Cup football semi final. With relatively few customers, the barmaid looked fairly bored.

Doom Bar is the real ale and there is no real cider. I'd certainly saved the worst pub on my Glamorgan crawl until last.

Graham Coombs left this review about The Kings Head

An unpleasantly modernised pub with no consistent style to it although it does have a nice little snug part to one side. It seemed popular for food but not sampled. It usually offers a Welsh beer, which would have been Rhymney Scrum V except it was off. Sadly the alternative Doom Bar proved to be even more off but was rapidly changed for some Goose Island. I might have just been unlucky but the place didn't do much for me.
