there are so many tedious pubs in Newquay and this is another though far from the worst offender. it's an ex-Lloyds bar though any change since it was sold is not noticeable. the decor is completely soulless with bright garish colours far too prominent for my liking. with that said, the beer range remains pretty good and sensibly local ales are used as the 'boring choices' as opposed to the Spoons' mystifying loyalty to that Ruddles and Abbotts dross.

My first visit to this JDW yesterday and I was not really impressed although it seemed to be running the same as all other outlets. It is a Lloyds No 1 bar, and the Tintagel Cornwall Pride was ok, but it is very clinical looking inside, doesn't seem set out for comfort. There was a deck with seating at the front.
