Ray Marsden left this review about Malcolm Arms

Went for an evening meal on Friday 15 July 2016 for the first time. Kevin and Chrissie and the staff were welcoming and attentive. The decor is not quite completed but is original, unusual and integrated theme is full of colour and attractive and subtly conducive to eating out.
The food ( I had steak and ale pie, minted potatoes and mixed vegetables accompanied by the house red, followed by mango sorbet) was excellent. The shortcrust pastry, meat and gravy were mouth wateringly and memorably tasty, the freshly cooked vegetables had the slight crunch, which is to my taste, and the potatoes were done to a tee,
The dessert was a scrumptious mango sorbet topped with strawberry halves and a chocolate stick with a single cherry giving a contrasting slight bitterness setting off the relative sweetness of the sorbet. The host and hostess, from their conversation are very people centred and community motivated which adds another dimension to their excellent service.
