Old pub on village square more aimed at food. it seems to be a rather splendid old building, with a central corridor leading through to an outdoor area (and handy back entrance to village bus stop). All the action now takes place in one large room to the left, which is quite tastefully furnished in old style. On the right there is a front room with kids' toys, table football and a piano, with a rather nice old room behind which doesn't seem much used. Most people seem to be in for the food (occasional Michelin Pubs Guide listings) while beers include the ubiquitous Doom Bar and a couple of guests. One sampled was definitely on the way out, although the Doom Bar was fine. Ok if looking for an eatery, but shame they don't make more of the rest of the pub.

Unable to confirm previous comment, we found the pub had a number of people in for food but no one serving.
Chef appeared twice but no sign of anyone else and after waiting to try the Real ale gave up and went else where.
