An interesting two floored café bar which was absolutely freezing on our Sunday evening visit. There's a large fire upstairs surrounded by comfy chairs and sofas and another downstairs surrounded by people. The ones round the fire were "alright jack" but they blocked the heat from spreading. We couldn't even take our coats off. There's lots of bric-a-brac all over the place. It would take several visits to spot it all. There was also a feral child running around downstairs. The beer range was nowhere near as inventive as when BF visited, with only 3 ales available and none of them in the slightest bit interesting. We may have caught it on an off day, but we really weren't impressed.

Opposite the Tracle Tap,so easy to fall into on a crawl this pub is popular with the well behave young folk on a Friday evening. The high serving counter has the 4 handpumps immediately in front of the entrance, while the room opens out to the side, and this is where live music occurs at weekends. There is seating around a large fireplace and a higher level bench seating, while upstairs is a large chill out room with most sofas but some regular tables and chairs.
The four handpumps were drawing Salopian Lemon Dream,Wincle Wibbly Wallaby (decent),Storm Brewing Bosley Cloud and Cmrw Ial The Apache Line, which I thought was an interesting line up.
Worth including on a Macc crawl.

A review from August 2016

Friendly little cafe and bar a short walk from the train station. 5 hand pumps, each with a different ale on, 2 ales from the local Storm Brewing Co, I opted for a pint of Wincle Brewery Haymaker @ 3.9% followed by Red Mist @ 3.9% from Storm Brewing Co. In addition to the 5 cask ales there's Goose Island IPA and Anchor Steam Beer on keg. There's also 7 high quality lagers & Stowford Press cider.

The walls are all wooden with a mish mash of paintings, drawings & photos hanging on them. The furniture is old and upcycled, this includes a piano and a sowing machine table. Its a real electric mix but it works & adds to the boheimian feel of the place.

There is a book nook in the basement with antique lighting and more nick nacks.

Opens at 9.30am on a Saturday for food and beer and is one of the earliest to be open in town with most pubs not open until 12 noon.

The Snow Goose was not on my list to visit while here for football but I'm glad I popped in for a pint.

Thoroughly decent in my opinion and worth a stop if walking up / down Sunderland St towards the station.
