The Anvil was a typical grim looking estate pub that was in the benchill area of Wythenshawe.
Once inside there were two rooms that i noticed,there was a smart looking lounge and a bar where i had a drink,this room was fairly basic and had a bit of a rough edge to it.
This pub was an Hydes tied house and there were two real ales on the bar i had a drink of Hydes bitter and this was a fairly decent drink the other beer was Hydes mild.
Sadly this pub was pulled down late 2004.
