Another agreement with ROB. Jaipur now £4.40 a pint. Other bars of more interest in Manchester.

Dear me! Fake on every level. Wooden interior, wooden bar staff, wooden everything. It has 4 real ales but nobody has a clue how to pour any of them without making a mess. Also its like a friggin oven inside. Had a load of wigwams being built outside. Pretentious and very dull. I liked it.

Newly opened bar in the Spinningfields area. It's designed to look like an Oast House, hence the name. When they built it there was no room inside for a barbecue kitchen, so they've put it outside. Apparently it's the only current place in the country to have a permanent outside kitchen. It was rammed on Thursday afternoon about 2:30 as it's pretty small really. Most people were eating a late lunch and there was no-one sat outside as it was absolutely perishing. There are 4 cask ales on the bar back served from 2 fake barrels. I had a pint of Cumbrian Legendary Loweswater Gold which was OK if a bit cold. They also serve Cumbrian Legendary Langdale, Thornbridge Jaipur and Red Willow Smokeless. The last two are a rather steep £4 a pint. It's an OK place and is a decent addition to the Manchester pub scene, but it's aimed at suits from the nearby offices, so it's unlikely it will become a regular haunt for me.
