An amazing pub, simply for all the bric-a-brac and curios on every surface and wall. There are multiple rooms. all with a different feel to them. One area feels just like a gentlemen's club. The "Spin The Wheel" game wasn't in operation on our visit as we were too late. Four cask ales available and my pint was in good nick. Ms CAMRA loved the place, so I guess we'll be coming back.

This one used to be called The Oak but now is named after Colonel Jim Porter who along with a colleague in the mid 1920's invented the famous Newcastle Brown Ale.On entry you cannot help noticing the plethora of Victorian memorabillia and other miscellany strewn around ranging from stuffed animal heads to old mangles. There is cask beer there on an ever changing rota but i think there speciality are tipsy teas and vintage cocktails, although they are big on rum with over 100 bottles. From 5pm till 7pm there is a spin the wheel gimmick where every time you buy a drink you have a chance of free drinks, half price ones and other offers. The other half could not get enough of this place and called in all 4 nights.
Certainly worth a visit even if it is only just to see the antique curios.
