Waterside Bistro is a café bar with, funnily enough, lots of riverside seating adjacent to the bridge out back. My recent midweek visit was on a cold dark evening so I stayed inside in the warm. The formal front dining area was closed, so the few in attendance were found around the stool lined L-shaped serving counter at the rear and on the green banquettes up the left-hand wall opposite. Premium keg was available and the two hand pumps were drawing Doom Bar and Salcombe’s Devon Amber. The Amber was good and everyone likes a bit of 70s music in the background so what’s not to like.

More of a "upmarket foodie" type affair but plenty of outside seating and a not too shabby pint of Dartmoor Brewery "Dartmoor Best" to be quaffed(£2.50).6/10
